Welcome to the Air Breathers Club!

Preamble
Our mission is to promote social equality among all and establish common links between people in order to build a foundation of trust.

Article I
The name of this organization shall forever be, Air Breathers Club.

Article II
To be a member you must be able to breathe air.  This is the only requirement for membership.

Article III
There is to be no single leader or ruling council.  No officers of rank will be elected.  Here the entire group has an equal voice in all matters.  The creator, nor any initial members shall carry more weight than a person who is attending for the first time.  No majority vote may change this aspect of the club, all must be given equal weight in all matters.  Group participation, volunteering ideas, and voting on them will guide the direction for the club.  No one is to be left out of voting procedures.  Votes will be taken after the entire club discusses the issue.

Article IV
Student advisers must be interested in promoting social, no financial, equality.  The person must be able to breathe air and have absolutely no issues with sharing a space with all those that require oxygen to survive as well.  As with members, there is no dividing factor here outside of this basic necessity for life.

Article V
The meeting time for the club will at first be held in the cafeteria on Wednesdays at 3PM.  The club as a whole must decide if this is acceptable.  If a majority conflict arises, the club will vote on a new time and date.

Article VI

Air Breathers Club operates on these ten ideas:
I. To enter, leave all judgments about another race, nationality, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or any other division, behind.  In this place, we share the space and air equally.

II. This is not a place for ethnic or political debates; instead, we come here to gain insight into each other.  Through mutual respect and curiosity, we can all learn the truth behind the prejudices that pervade each of our cultures.

III. It is a belief that if two people, of completely opposing philosophies, were given a peaceful setting in which to communicate, goodwill can be established by recognizing shared commonalities.

IV. We will walk together without letting the "common knowledge" of our people influence how we interact with each other.  Here we will establish new knowledge not based on what we have, "been told about others."

V. Having individual religious beliefs is fine, but do not let them prevent you from the open exchange of information on a myriad of subjects.  Here we seek to learn what drives each other and what is important for us individually.

VI. It does not cost anything to talk; therefore, there will be no club dues or donation requests.  If a financial matter presents itself, the entire club will discuss, then vote on how to handle it.

VII. No majority may issue control over the club.  No board can be elected and no single person will receive any special privileges or gifts, outside of recognition, for their deeds.  Majority votes cannot change the core concepts of this club, as some things in life must be set in stone.

VIII. There is not and will never be a dress code for membership.  No event within the club will call for a formal appearance.

IX. The equality of the group is a sacred thing, as here, no person has the right to dictate what another shall do unless they get an equal say in the matter.

X. Members should leave this place with a deep understanding of those encountered.  What was said in the club needs to stay within the club.
